1/7/23 – We are so pleased to hear that Sarah has a happy life to look forward to in her new home!

Sarah is an 11-year-old Belgian Shepherd who is being rehomed by All Animals Rescue & Rehome, Essex.

Sarah was rescued from the Chinese meat trade. She has spent her entire life in a tiny crate that she couldn’t stand up or turn around in. Until she was rescued, she had never known love and never felt grass under her feet. She simply existed in a tiny little box, day in day out. How utterly heartbreaking. It’s unimaginable to think how soul destroying this must be for any dog, but particularly a Belgian Shepherd! Thank goodness she was finally rescued and made her way to the UK to find her forever home.

On arrival Sarah was pretty lifeless. It was known that she’s an older girl, and that the journey to the UK would be hard on her, but the rescue wanted to give her the chance to know love and a comfy sofa, even if it meant she might die while still at the rescue. It was immediately apparent that her mouth needed attention; it was oozing with puss, and she had very rotten teeth. But thankfully, after an emergency dental, she is like a different dog. Bless her!

Sarah loves life in the slow lane. She is a lovely companion who is happy to just sit with you and be stroked. She doesn’t want much in the way of walks, and is more than happy pottering around the garden and then retiring to her bed or the sofa. She absolutely loves her food and loves to sunbathe; she loves to be outside and will happily lie down in a shady spot for most of the day.

She is a happy, laid-back girl and will make a fabulous companion for someone who loves shepherds but wants a slower pace. Sarah has plenty of life in her, but is enjoying the slow lane. She is housetrained and non-destructive, she travels well in the car and is simply an absolute pleasure to have around. She is neutered and chipped, de-flead and wormed.

Sarah is a gentle giant; an utter darling with not a bad bone in her body. She could happily live with other dogs or be the only dog in the home. She is quite content being left for short periods. She is a very undemanding old lady, and would suit an older person or couple.

Could this very special and deserving old lady come to live with you?
