11/4/24 – We are so pleased to hear that Blake has found a new home!

Gorgeous lurcher Blake is 9 years old and is with Helping Pets North East, in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

This beautiful boy is looking for a comfy sofa to call his own, and a loving family to provide yummy food and daily walks. Blake is a lovely boy who makes a really chilled companion in the house.

Despite being wonderful dogs, lurchers are one of the most overlooked types of dog in rescue, but once you’ve owned one you’ll be under their spell! They are so easy to love and will make you laugh regularly. And look at those adorable white toes!

After a nice walk, Blake loves nothing more than to snooze the day away. He could live with another calm sighthound, but in the house he is not very tolerant of dogs in his personal space and will tell them off. He would also be happy as an only dog. Out on walks he is social with most dogs he meets and will even play with his favourite friends. His recall training has made excellent progress for a high value reward, and like any lurcher he loves to run!

Blake is housetrained, fine when left, travels in a crate and is crate trained generally. He could live with dog-savvy children aged 14 plus – the reason he isn’t suitable for younger ones is due to his clumsy nature! He is not suitable to live with cats or small animals.

Could you offer handsome Blake the home he is waiting for?
