Could sweet Sammy be your new best friend? This lovely, 9-year-old lady came to All Animals Rescue in Southampton after the sad passing of her owner. Though her family did their best to care for her, they weren’t able to keep her permanently and she’s ready now to find her perfect retirement home — one filled with love, calm and comfort.

Sammy is a Staffy, Whippet and Collie mix. She is such a gentle soul looking for love and is a true gem of a dog, full of heart and gentle charm. This sweet girl is happiest when she’s snuggled up next to you on the sofa or enjoying a gentle ride in the car.

Sammy’s a social butterfly in a quiet way — she’d love a few outings to see friends or family but prefers peaceful environments to busy places. Sammy would thrive in a calm, adult-only home (visiting children are fine!) where someone is around most of the time. She does have mild separation anxiety and can only be left alone for up to 2 hours.

Sammy enjoys two leisurely 30-minute walks a day, but don’t be surprised if she asks to go a bit further! She’s more of stroller than a power walker and likes to stop and sniff the roses (and everything else!). She’s the ideal companion for someone with a slower pace of life who wants a furry friend to share easy strolls and cozy afternoons.

Sammy is incredibly gentle with other animals. She’s proven herself to be brilliant with cats, horses, sheep, goats and even donkeys. Her lovely nature extends to polite interactions with visiting children too but, due to her age, she is looking for a home without resident young children.

Sammy is looking for a calm, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years with dignity and care. In return, she’ll give you endless love, gentle companionship and the occasional snuggle that melts your heart. If you’re someone who’s home often and ready to share your days with a kind, soulful companion, Sammy might just be your perfect match.

Sammy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She has had some benign lumps removed and has ongoing skin support. She has gleaming teeth, is up-to-date with all flea and worm treatment and comes with 5 weeks’ free insurance. She arrived with a number of health issues: poor skin due to a long-term untreated flea allergy, dental problems and a few lumps. But thanks to lots of love and top-notch veterinary care, she’s bounced back beautifully. She’s now on a high-quality flea prevention program and a medication called Apoquel to help her skin recover. It’s hopeful this will be temporary but, for now, it’s part of her routine.
