Little Bertie has found himself in the care of Chilterns Dog Rescue in Tring in Hertfordshire as his elderly owner has recently been taken into care and sadly can no longer care for him. He has been a much loved companion and is looking for a quiet forever home where he can continue to get lots of love and cuddles.

Bertie is a 12 yr old West Highland Terrier weighing 7.5 kg. Despite his age he enjoys his walks and being outdoors. He needs a couple of short gentle walks a day where he can explore and have a good sniff. Then back home for a nice snooze.

Bertie is looking for an adult home without resident or visiting young children as he likes a quiet and calm life. He is such a friendly boy that loves everyone he meets. He is used to cats and could live alongside dog savvy feline chums.

He is a good boy when left alone and will settle nicely for short periods, so long as most of the time his humans are around to give him love and cuddles. He is house trained and neutered.

Bertie has been diagnosed with a chronic ear infection which necessitated having his ear flushed under anaesthetic, but he has made a full recovery. His new humans will need to clean his ears with an ear cleaner twice a week going forward and he will need to be fed a sensitive hypoallergenic diet to prevent a reoccurrence. He is also currently being given Yumove tablets which are helping with his joints.

Bertie is so adorable and will make the most wonderful loving companion for a lucky person.
