George is a gentle giant of a boy recently arriving from Romania and now waiting in kennels in East Sussex for his forever home through Goodward Dog Rescue. He is a Bucovina Shepherd Dog, aged around 7-9 yrs of age and weighs 38-40kg.

George is described as friendly, affectionate and loyal. Gentle in nature, which is typical of his breed which was originally as a guarding dog of people (not animals). He is calm with others dogs and gets on well with them when he greets them outside the home, and is playful with those that he knows. He is uninterested in livestock and horses and ponies. Once George has bonded with you his recall is good and whilst he can jump up at the moment his carers are working on this. He is also a little partial to counter surfing, so food needs to be kept out of paws reach !

George can be left for a few hours on his own and whilst not keen on getting into the car, he will settle if someone keeps him company on the back seat.
He has just got over a urinary tract infection but is all well now and George is otherwise in good health.

Currently on a raw diet which really agrees with George it’s recommended that his new owners continue this feeding regime.

Goodward Dog Rescue will provide full lifetime rescue back up for George.
George will make the most wonderful faithful friend for either a family, couple or single person. Preferring a quiet semi rural location as he doesn’t like busy roads, could you be what George is looking for ?
