Lagartija, also known as Lady-Loo, Princess, and Snugglebug, is a beautiful 7-year-old Spanish Galga who is being rehomed by Project Galgo. She is currently in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Lagartija is a sweet and gentle girl who is also playful and fun. She’s is very easy going, nervous of loud noises, but she’s adjusting well to the bustle of home life. She is a very chilled girl at home; she likes to sleep, or will happily entertain herself with toys or chews, but she also loves a cuddle. She is curious of new things and is happy to investigate with some reassurance. She’s just a joy!

She tested postive for the Mediterranean disease Leishmaniasis, but with treatment is stable. Otherwise she is in good health. She is neutered, and her vital statistics are: Height = 65cm and Weight = 24kg.

Lady-Loo loves all food and treats, plus toys and a comfy sofa. She dislikes loud noises, and is worried by some men to start with, but can be won round with time. Fast movements worry her.

Her special talent is catching treats you throw for her, and her recall is coming along nicely. She loves cuddles, especially first thing in the morning, so if you are looking for a large lap dog, Lagartija is your girl!

She would like a home with someone there for most the day. You will need to be committed to monitoring her Leishmaniasis. She requires daily Allopurinol at the moment with Impromune and a low purine diet. She can live with children aged 14+. She would like a home with another dog to play with, and she gets a lot of confidence from other dogs. She’s loved playing with the others at her foster home.

She could potentially live with cats, provided you put in the work to safely getting her used to them. She has been left only for brief periods, and is good with other dogs being around, but she will also find things to occupy herself if she gets bored. She could be left for about 1 hour to start with and then build up.

Could you offer this sweet and joyful girl a new home?
