*Please help us help Terrier Tom and his poorly eye*

Hi, I’m Tom, one of the sponsor dogs at Oldies Club, a small volunteer-run charity that rescues and rehomes older dogs in the UK. I’m in a forever foster home and Oldies Club covers all of my vet bills. Earlier this week, my fosterer noticed one of my eyes had suddenly gone cloudy so I was taken to the vets. Unfortunately, it is a form of retinal detachment and so today I am having my eye removed :-( I’m having some help writing this as I am going to be feeling woozy today and having a bit of a nap while […]

Help us help ‘battered’ to beautiful Bella!

Hi, I’m Bella, a beautiful Spinone cross type of a girl, who came into Oldies Club care in 2015, as an unclaimed stray from the pound. I was in a terrible state then. Very underweight and it’s thought I have been used as a breeding machine and then left unclaimed :-(.  I am deaf and partially sighted too, so it’s been a rather difficult time for me. I think I made a rather sad sight. Thankfully, I am now in the care of Oldies Club, in a lovely foster home and awaiting my forever home. With the dedicated care and love […]

*Please help Chester and his very poorly ears*

Hello, I’m Chester, a GSD cross Collie boy who came into Oldies Club care in March 2016 after my previous owner and I sadly lost our home. Unfortunately after arriving in Oldies Club foster care it was immediately obvious that, along with not being in the greatest condition generally, I have VERY poorly ears :-(. I was taken to the vets and given painkillers and booked in for a GA so that swabs could be taken and an appropriate treatment plan established. Oldies Club is not yet sure of the total for my vet care so far, and I will obviously […]

    Woof Factor 2016

Oldies Club is celebrating older dogs! We are holding a fundraising photo competition for the eighth year running especially for dogs age 7 and over. The winning dog will represent the Oldies Club for the following year. The only rule for this competition is that dogs entering need to be veterans, they do not necessarily need to be rescue dogs to enter. We have divided the UK up into 7 regions (North East, North West, South East, South West, Midlands, Scotland and Wales. The winner of each region will go forward to the Grand Final. The competition will run for the month […]

For this month of February 2016, for every doggie jumper ordered from Edie and Reggie, they will very kindly make and donate a jumper to Oldies Club :-) We have a number of little dogs in foster/sponsor care who we feel would love to be snuggled up in one of these gorgeous jumpers in this colder weather, so if you are tempted to treat your own dog, now’s a great time! The jumpers are 100% acrylic and machine washable, come in a lovey range of colours and various sizes for Mini Schnauzer-sized dogs and smaller. Please click HERE for full […]

  • Petition to introduce compulsory scanning for microchips for ‘found’ dogs

People have their beloved dogs (and other animal companions) microchipped with the belief that, along with wearing a legally required ID tag, they have the best chance of being reunited with their dog, should he/she go missing. We know many vets, dog wardens/local authorities, rescue centres etc. do already scan incoming dogs for a microchip as a matter of routine, which is great, but sadly not all do. Please take a minute to click HERE and sign today if you haven’t already – and make sure you click the confirmation email you’ll receive to ensure your support counts. There are still […]

*Please help Super Sadie raise £2,381.65 for her ops!*

Hi, I’m Super Sadie, a beautiful (they tell me) ten-year-old Great Dane x Mastiff girl, who came into Oldies Club care in August 2015. Update: 22 September 2015 – I had to return to the vets to have a growth removed from my foot (I’ll spare you the details) and from my flank. My vet bills to date have now reached £2,381.65! I am one of many older dogs currently in Oldies Club care, so if you can spare a donation of any amount, we would all be really, really, really grateful. The charity can only continue rescuing and rehoming older […]

*Help take our Virtual Street Collection around the UK*

Hello! We are holding a virtual street collection this weekend – please support us by clicking HERE to put a donation in our virtual collection tin. We’re a small, volunteer-run charity, but our vet bills are huge. Thousands and thousands of pounds, EVERY month. We do really, really, really need your help to continue our work rescuing and rehoming older dogs. Maybe you wish you could help more at ‘real life’ events, but can’t because of work/personal commitments or circumstances, or distance? Perhaps you’re just not a big fan of our delightfully(!) changeable British weather and love the idea of helping […]
