12/04/18 – Gorgeous Finnegan has found his new home!
Big, lovable, goofy Finnegan is in urgent need of a home to get him out of the kennels (in Norfolk) where he is at the moment, through Safe Rescue. He can either be adopted or long term fostered. He’s in our Special Other category because he’s young but he’s very special indeed!
Safe Rescue say, “Finnegan is a Bucovina shepherd of around two years old We have this special dog… he was hit by a car as a puppy in Romania and spent two months in a coma. He was then returned to his owners but later found to be being kept in poor conditions on a short chain and with a lame leg.
“He came to us and is a really amazing dog but he’s got a very unsure future. Currently his condition is that he is deaf, has three legs, rather cross eyed and has a tilted head. To add to this he’s a huge boy of 40 kilos. He’s been rehomed and returned to us twice. First time was because he wasn’t good with their other dog and second time was because due to his disabilities he’s clumsy and kept knocking over the adopters elderly mother.
“We don’t know his life expectancy and are concerned his head tilt is getting worse. At the moment he’s a happy and affectionate boy who has no concept of the fact that he’s ‘different’. We are happy to pay his vet bills for all his life but desperate to get him out of kennels and into a pet free home.”
Finnegan doesn’t have a problem with other dogs but they often have a problem with him. He doesn’t quite understand the social niceties of dog relations and so they tend to find him annoying, no matter how friendly he tries to be!
