Jazz and Sam are a pair of handsome, black and yellow Labradors who are currently living in a foster home provided by RSPCA Essex South, Southend & District Branch and are looking for a home with a private, secure garden, preferably without any steps, so they can lounge about in the sun. They are both adorable, older gentlemen and need to be rehomed together to enjoy pottering in the garden and snoozes in front of the fire on the cold nights ahead.

Jazz!

Jazz (black) and Sam (yellow) are approximately 12 years old and love fuss and attention. They both are friendly with people and other dogs, both in their foster home and out on walks. They have been enjoying life in their foster home and have both been true gentlemen and a joy to have around. They could potentially live with other dogs, as they live with two resident older dogs in their foster home. They could live with children of secondary school age and maybe also dog-savvy cats.

Jazz is easy-going and laid back, likes a fuss especially a tummy rub and enjoys his walks. He is currently on a weight loss journey and has done fantastically well to lose 10kg in 4 months! At 46kg now, he still has a way to go. So he is on a special satiety diet and frequent short walks to help get to his target.

Sam!

Sam is very affectionate and a little shadow to his fosterers. He prefers to be close to his human, even sitting on your lap if he can get away with it (which he frequently does of course!). He can be anxious though and is a bit hard of hearing, so he seeks reassurance from his human companions. Sam has an ongoing medical issue, involving a recurring urine infection, that he is still receiving treatment from the vets for, so adopters local to Southend on Sea would be ideal as the RSPCA would like to support Sam’s treatment to resolution.

Jazz and Sam would do better in a home where they are not left for long periods and have people around for company most of the time. Sam travels okay, but Jazz is not keen. Both Jazz and Sam do have some arthritis and are on regular pain relief, although the weight loss Jazz has achieved will benefit his arthritis greatly.
