15/04/2022: Layla will be staying with her foster family for good! We’re all thrilled for her! Yay!

Lovely Layla is 7 years old and she has been in the UK for about 8 months. She is in a Romanian Rescue Appeal foster home in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Beautiful Layla needs support with building her confidence further and so she would be best suited to an adult-only home where there is a resident confident dog. She needs a home with a garden as she loves to go outside and enjoy being on grass and crunchy leaves. She still needs to get used to being left on her own and so needs a home with people around most of the time. You will need to be able to patiently and gradually build up the time Layla is left, with support from Romanian Rescue Appeal. This is another reason why having a resident dog should help lovely Layla.

Layla is fully toilet trained. On walks she can sometimes be fearful of very small dogs, perhaps because she is confused by them, but overall she is progressing well with her walks. Layla can be reactive to unexpected noises such as car doors, loud engines etc. Sometimes she will settle again, sometimes she will pull for home or the car. She responds well to food-based training in a calm environment. She is good in the car, but longer journeys (over an hour) might make her car sick, although this can be avoided by taking breaks.

She is OK with visitors in the house, including men, but she does prefer to be introduced to new people before she can be comfortable with them. She is less happy with tradespeople (e.g. plumbers, decorators) because she gets quite stressed when she can hear them but not see what they are doing. Layla has been around children but is scared when they make unexpected loud noises, so a calm, child-free environment would suit her best.

Could you offer Layla the quiet home she truly deserves?
