-
Happy Holly Longlegs (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)
Holly is happy to hear that she is going to be cared for as an Oldies Club sponsor dog as she knows how well she will be loved and cared for. She doesn’t let her health problems interfere with fun and games in her foster home and lives life to the full. You can see that from her lovely photos! She would however be very grateful if you would consider sponsoring her and will reward you with a big smile if you could help….
-
Mika (SOS Animals UK, kennelled Derbyshire)
14/12/13 Poor Mika has sadly had to be put to sleep because of her tumours and other medical problems. Rest peacefully now Mika.

Twink – a shining star (Oldies Club, fostered Essex)
Twink was only with his foster carers a couple of days before collapsing and having to be rushed to the vet. A scan revealed that he was seriously ill and we had to let him go. His poor foster carers are devastated.
-
Calm Kelly (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)
Beautiful Kelly came into Oldies Club care in December 2012 and although she quickly stole the hearts of her foster family, they hoped that she would soon find her forever home. Unfortunately her health has deteriorated, particularly her arthritis, so Kelly will stay with her foster family as an Oldies Club sponsor dog. Her photos are just stunning as she herself is, do have a look at her story and see if you could help her to have the best retirement possible..

Zuper-Duper Zak Dobermann (Oldies Club, fostered Berkshire)
17.8.2014 After only 10 months in his new home, sadly Zak has passed away. We offer our sympathy and gratitude to his owners who gave him such a wonderful new home and also to his fosterers who cared for him for so long.
-
Charlie (RSPCA York & District Branch)
10/5/2015 Charlie [formerly Marley] has sadly now passed away. He was blissfully happy in his foster home but his poor old body was exhausted. We take comfort in the knowledge that at the end of his life he was truly loved.
-
Twiggy (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)
We are very sad to have to update this page with the news that dear Twiggy has passed away :-(
-
Rocco, the Paddling Toyhound (Oldies Club sponsor dog)
Rocco arrived in Oldies Club care around 20 months ago and despite being a very handsome boy, has not received any suitable adoption enquiries. It took him some months to really settle into his wonderful foster home and we had concerns about how a move to another home would affect him. Combining this with the lack of enquiries for him, we have now placed him in our sponsor dog scheme. This means that Rocco will remain in his foster home on a permanent basis, with Oldies Club covering his vet bills for the rest of his life :-)
-
Rocky (Blaby District Council, Leicestershire)
It’s with a sad heart that Rocky had to be PTS. A swab was taken from his ears as they were not responding to treatment which showed a catalogue of bacteria that the vet said would take a very long time to resolve and may never resolve because of how long they had been left. It was agreed that rather than him spend many weeks in pain and under a lot of stress it would be better to let him go.

Vince (Algernon Trust Animal Sanctuary, Northamptonshire)

Sophie (Dogs Trust, Glasgow)
27/9/13 – Sad news from Dogs Trust Glasgow – ‘Sophie has sadly passed away. Her back end deteriorated badly and she had to be put to sleep as she couldn’t walk but her favourite carer and favourite volunteer cuddled her and comforted her and said their goodbyes. It was very peaceful and dignified, as she deserved.’ Run free, Sophie.
-
Asha (Rescue Remedies, Surrey)
27/6/13 – Sad news from Rescue Remedies: ‘So sorry to have to tell you that Asha went to Rainbow Bridge today. Sadly he had a mass on his upper front leg and he was struggling to walk. The vet agreed it was better to let him slip away without pain. Thankfully he had 10 months before he died in a wonderful foster home.’
-
Puppy-hearted Punch (Oldies Club, fostered Wiltshire)
Punch came into Oldies Club care with tremendous spirit, but he was a very poorly boy and has had to be put to sleep. His lovely foster carers have sent a fitting tribute to this special dog.
-

3/6/13 We’ve heard the sad news that Jill passed away in her foster home at the weekend. Our thoughts are with her foster family.

Ben (Stray Dogs Sanctuary, kenneled Devon)
16/5/13 – We just had this sad news about Ben: ‘I’m afraid I have sad news about Ben. He has been on two courses of antibiotics for an infection, but they have not worked ,so the vet has carried out further tests and found that he has bone cancer, so has decided that the kindest thing to do is to put Ben to sleep.’
