    3/5/12 Very sad news today from a Maxicare volunteer: “Handsome Matthew passed away today in the arms of Maxicare Staff who were his family and his friends. He was fighting cancer but unexpectedly took a turn for the worse. So devastating as he spent almost his whole life with them. Run Free” :(

  • Jessie has found a permanent foster home!

    23/09/10 We’re very happy to update with the news that Jessie has found a permanent foster home – it is her original foster home and we know she will be very happy there.

  • Pepsi (Ark, Lincolnshire coast)

    13/11/10 Sad news about Pepsi — She had to be put to sleep, on the vet’s advice. Following tests and several different treatments, all to no avail, her digestive problems have got the better of her. She had chronic diarrhoea and was passing blood, losing weight and was anaemic. The vet had run out of options for her. Rest in peace Pepsi.

  • Wag (Oldies Club, fostered Hertfordshire)

    18/9/10 We are very sad to report that Wag suddenly became very ill and after having tests and a scan was found to have an enlarged liver, a mass in his stomach, and a problem with one of his kidneys. The vet advised that there was no hope of improvement and as Wag was not at all well, he sadly had to be put to sleep. Rest in peace little Wag.

  • “Look at me” Lucy just loving her perfect home!

    Lovely Lucy is completely at home with her new family and enjoying life with 2 Oldies Club doggie friends. She’s full of fun and hoping to become a “Pat Dog” at the local hospital. A perfect ending for a perfect dog!

  • Jake (German Shepherd Rescue South, kennelled Middlesex)

    1/6/10 Very sad news about old Jake. German Shepherd Rescue South has had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. He was very unwell: he was collapsed, gums white, and the vet advised that he was shutting down and the kindest thing to do was to have him pts. Sleep tight handsome boy. :(

    21/10/10 Very sad news: Ruby died at the kennels late afternoon 18 October 2010. She is thought to have had a heart attack. Ruby will be sadly missed.

  • Basil – was Old Dog of the Week, now New Dog at the Park!

    Basil was waiting for a special new home for almost a year and he was starting to think he’d never find it. But after being spotted on our website as our Old Dog of the Week, he’s now settling into a new life and loving every minute! Aug 10: Updated with photos of Baz doing agility!

    4/7/10 Very sad news about Bonnie. She recently became unwell and was found to have a very aggressive tumour and the kindest thing was to put her to sleep. Rest peacefully, Bonnie.

    9/7/10 Sam the Springer unfortunately had to be put to sleep recently following a collapse and subsequent discovery of a tumour. Poor Sam. :(

    9/6/10 – We just had the sad news that Midge was put to sleep as the pain was just too much for the poor boy anymore. He had a good last couple of months with his new family and at least his last memories were happy ones.

    19/1/10 Poor little Sparky has sadly passed away due to sudden ill health. Sleep tight sweet boy.

  • Watchful Boysie (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

    19/2/2010 Poor little Boysie has sadly passed away. He had collapsed and was taken to the vets who advised he had pneumonia. Due to his age and frail condition it was kinder to put him to sleep. Boysie had been loved and very well cared for by his wonderful fosterers. Sleep well little man :(

  • Sooty (Dogs Trust Merseyside)

    Poor Sooty has had to be put to sleep, leaving his best friend Suzie in rescue all alone.
