    4/1/14 – Sad news from Animals in Need: I’m sorry to inform you, sadly Jakey passed away about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately he developed a tumor on his heart and we had to have him put to sleep. Thankfully he spent his last months living in our on site mobile home with a member of staff so at least had some home comforts and companionship before he left us. Run free, Jakey.

    31/8/11 – We have just received the sad news that Bruce has been put to sleep. Here is what his carer had to say about him: Sadly, we had to have our lovely Bruce put to sleep over the weekend :( He suffered a series of strokes and went downhill very rapidly. Despite living rough and being mistreated in his past he was such a happy boy with us and his tail was wagging right to the end. Sleep tight, Bruce.

    July 2011 – we are very sad to have to let you know that the beautiful FeeBee has passed away. FeeBee was a very popular sponsor dog and we are very grateful to everyone who has sponsored her over the years. Oldies Club is thinking of her wonderful family, who have taken such great care of her since she became a sponsor dog. Run free, FeeBee, you are very much missed.

    19/9/11 – We have just had the sad news that Nelson had a massive stroke this week and, under vet advice, he was PTS. Nelson had just been reserved by someone interested in rehoming him but sadly he didn’t make it:( Sleep tight, Nelson.

    Jess arrived at her foster home a very poorly girl. Tests revealed a large mass around her kidney and despite the very best efforts of our vet and Jess’ foster carer, she became so ill that she had to be put to sleep.

    Suki is a beautiful 18-year-old Golden Retriever girl, who had been living in a flat with her previous owner, who unfortunately had an accident and was no longer able to care for her. On the day of the Royal Wedding, when most people were watching events unfold on the TV, Suki was leaving her home and travelling to her Oldies Club foster home.

    26/8/11 – We are sad to hear that poor Gracie had to be put to sleep. Here is what her carer at Rain Rescue said about her: With a heavy heart I need to tell you that poor Gracie was pts yesterday. She was originally with us for 6 months then returned by her foster carers 3 months ago and we were all very attached to her. RIP beautiful girl.

    12/11/11 A very sad update from Battersea … Unfortunately Paris damaged a ligament in her leg beyond repair and after having x-rays the vet felt the only option was to put her to sleep. Paris was a long term resident and had been in a foster home since August and we are all devastated that she didn’t have the happy ending we wished for. Sleep tight Paris :(

    28/7/2011 A sad update from Dogs Trust … Our poor wee Gypsy passed away in her sleep last week and the vet explained that it was natural causes and old age. She is very sadly missed by staff and volunteers alike, but was a happy, cheeky little girl right to the end and had adapted well to living here and being waited on by her carers. Sleep tight little one :(

    28/7/11 Emma has been unwell for a while and, despite veterinary treatment and the excellent loving care of her foster carer, she sadly deteriorated to the point where there was no choice but to put her to sleep. Rest in peace beautiful Emma.

    30/5/2012 Sad news about long-stay boy Scampie – he was put to sleep on Monday. He had been struggling to breathe and had collapsed over the weekend. It was considered it was kindest to put him to sleep. He will be missed very much.

    Jessie, a Japanese Chin X, has lost her brother Wag and due to her specific needs she is staying in Oldies Club care permanently as a Sponsor Dog. She enjoys snoozing the morning away and then waking for playtime in the afternoon. Jessie is such a funny, entertaining little girl.

    18/8/12 Sad news from South East Dog Rescue … It is with the heaviest of hearts that I tell you that Tiny, our beautiful big bear Rottweiler, has gone to the rainbow bridge. Tiny was adored here and he knew how much he was loved as he went to sleep without awakening. :(
